Tooth Fillings

When tooth decay occurs, fillings are required in order to prevent further decay. Our office primarily uses tooth-colored fillings when treating our patients. Tooth-colored feelings look and feel like natural teeth. Some tooth-colored filling materials even release fluoride, which can help prevent further decay. Fillings need minimal upkeep and can last for years; if fillings are required on primary teeth, they will simply fall out with the rest of the tooth.

If decay is more widespread, stainless steel may be required. Typically, stainless steel crowns are only used if fillings simply will not be supported by remaining tooth structure. Crowns may also be used after root canals.
